PCR is created by community, for community, and volunteers help make the retreat possible. Volunteering is also one of the best ways to meet fellow campers, become part of the experience, and help create the welcoming environment that makes PCR special. Whether you have a few hours to share during the retreat or are interested in becoming more involved over time, there is a place for you.

Volunteer at the Retreat
Event volunteers support the practical work that keeps PCR running smoothly. Most opportunities involve a scheduled shift or a specific task, so you can contribute without missing the parts of the retreat that matter most to you.
Welcome Campers
Help greet arriving campers, check them in, distribute event materials, and make sure they know where to find important information. This is a wonderful role for friendly folks who enjoy meeting people and helping them feel at home.
Support Workshops and Activities
Assist presenters and activity leaders with simple event needs, help attendees find the right location, or be available during a program in case the facilitator needs support.
Be a Town Crier
Help announce upcoming workshops, rituals, and activities around the campground. These are short shifts, and teens are welcome to participate.
Help with Setup and Teardown
Many hands make lighter work. Volunteers help unload supplies, set up tents and shared spaces, post signage, prepare registration materials, and pack everything away at the end of the retreat. Setup and teardown opportunities may involve lifting, carrying, or working outdoors. Tasks can be matched to different abilities.
Staff the Information Booth
Help campers find schedules, locations, lost-and-found items, raffle information, and answers to common questions. Information booth volunteers act as friendly campground hosts and can contact a committee member when additional help is needed.
Support Campground Safety
Safety volunteers serve as an extra set of eyes around the campground and report concerns to the designated committee member. This may include checking shared areas, watching for unattended fires, and helping keep roads and emergency access routes clear. Volunteers receive instructions before their shift and are not expected to personally manage emergencies or confront unsafe situations.
Volunteer Scheduling
Volunteer opportunities and schedules are finalized as the event program comes together. Tell us what kinds of tasks interest you, when you expect to attend, and whether you have any physical or scheduling limitations we should consider. We want volunteering to add to your PCR experience, not prevent you from enjoying it.
Interested in Joining the PCR Committee?
The PCR Committee works throughout the year to plan and produce the retreat. Committee members may help with programming, communications, registration, volunteers, sponsors and vendors, safety, logistics, community outreach, or other areas based on the needs of the event.
Because committee work is grounded in the retreat itself, we encourage anyone interested in joining to first:
- Attend PCR as a camper.
- Volunteer during the event.
- Get to know the community and how the retreat operates.
