Because of Covid-19 restrictions, we did our first online event via Facebook, with the live and pre-recorded presentations viewed through the PCR Camping! Facebook group.

We promoted the event online, our group membership went from 55 members to 277. While we would have rather been out in the woods, it was a great opportunity to share our event with a wider audience. We hope that this might be reflected in attendance for 2021. Our online event was free to attend.

Chelsea Osborn did an amazing job organizing the programming content and presenters.

Several of the presentations, including the Mindful Meditation, both Rituals, Native Plant walk and Sun Salutation encouraged connections with the outdoors and nature, per our Mission statement.

Lessons learned: a dry run rehearsal would have given us a chance to make some changes that would have helped on technical issues. Pre-recorded was cleaner, and if we do the watch parties better, we could still have group interactions via the chat format. Live events would be better with a little assistance or someone with experience doing live FB events.

We created an album of native plants to ID, from the Angeles National Forest. We also had a thread to share images of our Summer Solstice altars (from this year and past years)

Presentation content would have been better on a different platform, so we could use it for more marketing opportunities.

We created an image and had t-shirts available, promoted during the online event through teespring.

We hope that next year we can be back in the forest, but this proved that we could bring nature and our community together, whether we are outside or online.
