by Kayley Whalen at PCR 2024
Kayley Whalen is an anthropologist who’s interviewed neurodivergent and gender non-conforming people around the world about their spiritual practices. She’s also traveled across Ireland, Iceland, and Northern Europe in search of the origins of pagan beliefs and practices around changelings. In this workshop, she will share some of her research and provide resources for those who want to learn more about faery folklore/folk religions. She will also invite participants to share their practices and stories with the group so we can collectively grow our body of knowledge and practice together.
Kayley Whalen is an anthropologist and LGBT/disability activist. As a neurodivergent queer trans woman, she is passionate about exploring how music and ritual can facilitate healing from collective trauma. She is a PhD researcher and lecturer with two book chapters on paganism and music subculture currently in press by Routledge and Intellect Books.
