PCR Director Ocean (Lisa SG) shares this piece about Caer Ibormeith, originally published in the Fall 2020 issue of Witches Magazine UK. Here, Ocean introduces her personal connection to the goddess:

“Caer Ibormeith is a goddess that came to me when I started working with dream magic. She is the goddess of liminal spaces, dreams, sleep, and prophecies. I’ve been blessed with a few prophetic dreams, one that possibly saved my life. This goddess is well known, though her name is rarely known at all. She is the lady that turns into a swan on Samhain with her 150 maidens. I reach out to her when I need guidance, rest, and when I want a glimpse of what may be.”

Aengus Og’s Song

By Ocean (Lisa SG)

Caer Ibormeith* calls to me
When I’m fast asleep.
She speaks to me,
She longs for me

When I’m not awake.
Caer Ibormeith sings
So sweet.
I hear her nighttime call,

But what I can’t tell
Is if she’s, well,
Human or not
At all.

Caer Ibormeith draws me
Quickly to her side.
But I can’t tell
From whence she came

Or if she’s only in my mind.
Inside the land of dreams,
I rest in her embrace.
With arms so feather soft

She holds me,
I feel the gentle wisp,
But can’t see her shifting face.
Her visage a mirage

That rises above
Tethers of shape or place.
Caer Ibormeith longs for me,
So I never want to wake.

Outside the land of Nod, she alludes me,
So all I do is dream.
I’m waiting, I’m wondering,
When she’ll come for me.

I wish with all my heart
She would call my name.
I can’t wait to fall asleep
Because, in dreams, she stays.

With the grace
Of the swan
For her approach,
I wait.

Someday she will
Make her claim and
With her I’ll remain,
Caer Ibormeith, my mate.

*Caer is pronounced Kire like fire.  Ibormeith is eye-VOR-mah
