Sacred space doesn’t have to stay at home! For Em/WolfHeart and Clover, bringing their spiritual practices into nature is part of what makes camping feel like home. During a recent camping trip, they created a shared altar filled with meaningful objects, representations of their deities, and personal connections to their practices.
WolfHeart shares:
“I always camp more comfortably when I take my Gods with me. Taking a small piece from each bit of my altar and re-creating it in miniature in the nature of wherever I’m staying gives me a deeper feeling of connection that makes the extra packing and setup worth it every time.”
Clover shares:
“These are some of the things I take camping to help me feel both at home and connected to my practice wherever I am. I’ve included various representations of my deities, including a statue of Apollo, a key and coffin nails for Hekate, and a shell for Aphrodite. The altar cloth is a very special one that was cleansed and blessed in a ritual by my partner and friends.”
Together, they’ve created a sacred space that brings familiar connections into a new setting, reminding us that our practices can travel wherever we do.
About the Artists
Clover has been practicing witchcraft since 2012 and became active in the greater Pagan community in 2024. Their eclectic practice blends Hellenic polytheism and Druidry, with a growing interest in tarot divination. Clover enjoys singing with the bards of Raven’s Cry Grove, practicing magic with friends, and keeping their cat from eating the besom.
Em/WolfHeart is a self-taught Hellenic Pagan and Druid with a deep love of nature and all things wild. Originally from the desert, Em’s practice centers on energy work, particularly crystal magic. A self-described “magical goofball,” Em has a special fondness for shiny magic rocks!
